Default How do you get rid of image tags in e-mails?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a Pearl and got the BlackBerry internet service through T-Mobile. I get my Outlook Web Access mail and Gmail pushed to the device. It has a lot of nasty tags with URL's for images etc. Is there a way to get rid of these image tags? I've been trying desperately and couldn't locate an answer..

porkins originally asked how to get rid of image tags in email.

JSanders replied with a link that tells us about Empower and BBsmart

I repeat and perhaps refine porkins' original question: How do I get rid of image/html tags in email messages? I'm not interested in installing an email client that can display them. I want them to go away completely so I just get the text from the original message. I thought BIS removed html stuff before sending email to the device? My Treo used to do this very well.

No, BIS does not strip out code from all HTML messages.
You need to ask your sender to stop sending in HTML format (or send in HTML & TEXT format) so you can view them properly on the BlackBerry.
