Default "Data Connection Refused" message

Please Login to Remove!

Dear All

I just got a 2nd hand Blackberry (T-mobile) and put in a "Three" dualband sim card. after the GSM and gprs, I got the "data connection refused" message and cannot receive mail. My service provider "three" said they have not see this before.

Is it the sim lock problem? I use the Alt MEPD and see that the SIM lock shows "disabled". The sim work in another BB.

Did anyone come across this problem before? I would be grateful if you could shed some light on this issue.

Just a bit backgroud. I am using BB with BES. The handheld is 4.0 version. The BES is still 3.6.

Thanks.

Michael

Yes. The BlackBerry is SIM card locked.
Lots and lots of existing threads on SIM card locked BlackBerrys and the "Data Connection Refused" message.

The 7100t is locked to T-Mobile only.

Thanks for the advice.

I am just curious, since the one who sell it to me said it is unlocked. And when using the Option -> SIM Card -> then type Alt-M E P D method, it shows SIM disabled. Does it mean that it is locked? How can I check if the device is SIM locked? Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Pritesh's Blackberry 7280: BlackBerry7280/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/5.1.2.9)

A data connection refused message could possibly mean that you do not have a Blackberry data plan, since the device requires a data service, which would be checked by seeing a capital GPRS next to the signal indicator. If the phone Side works, then the device is unlocked.

I guess your problem maybe PIN lock not related to handset and SIM card, which cause u can't use BWC. While u click mepd, disable of 5 items means the handset unlock.
I got this message also. Local telecom SP haven't provided BB service so to never care for it.
