It's NOT a beta version...it's the SAME version. You have exactly what is in this thread--nothing different. It's only beta because you got it before this carrier released it. You got it early.

waksat--the 507 error simply means no OS installed.

Which OS is installed to your PC currently? If you are downgrading back to 4.2, use Control Panel on the PC to completely uninstall 4.5 first.

This OS seems to work very well. I've had no issues with it and have been running it since it showed up here.

John

I wonder if this will work on the 8700's with the 4.5 that do not show the browser?

It's definitely worth a shot. The issue is missing service books - so resending them should fix it.

I have games I have purchased from BBPlay and when I upgraded to the firs 4.5 they had to resend me the numbers to activate. I saved those emails but I'm not sure if they wouldbe the same if I upgraded again. So is there a way I can save the games ie on my computer hard drive so I dont have to keep asking them for a activation number?

thanks
James

I would just save the activation numbers. I use password keeper for this. The same code should work again on the same device.

I see several references and questions regarding "third party apps"
Do third party apps present any problem with upgrading the OS?

Thanks,
Jim

Some are incompatible, some simply won't work and others can prevent the upgrade from being installed.

For the most part, third party apps either work or don't work - most don't really cause problems... but one that did for me was the Surreal theme.

If I wanted to downgrade back to 4.22, where can I find the older OS so I can re-install?

Under support / downloads on the Blackberry site. Select your carrier and the current OS is there to download.

after receive the reset 507 513 whatever error message and fooling around with that for a while...If you receive this error and then unable to connect you must disable the automatic backup under apploader. This relieved all my errors of not connecting and I was able to reinstall os 4.5

Hi everyone!
I have updated to 4.5.0.55 from 4.2 and have loved the new features but now my curve is acting up...

2 days after the upgrade ( i followed regular upgrade procedure, deleting vendor.xml, etc..) I stopped receiving emails and the phone has been showing the hour glass ever minute or so on the main screen. I believe that its trying to connect to data but is unable to. I placed the curve on an old audio speaker and hear they typical cell noise when the hour glass appears. I am able to use BBM and the browser but not receive any emails. I have updated service books from ATT BIS but this did not solve the problem.

I decided to do repeat upgrade by including the wipe step using JL_CMder and this did fix the problem but after a few days the hour glass showed up again....
The continuous attempt to connect to the network is causing battery life to become extremely low too.

I hope someone can give me some advice

Thank you !
