Default BB OS 4.0 HTML Browser with AT&T

Hello all,

I just found out that if you are a Cingular Blue (AT&T Wireless) Blackberry customer, and have recently upgraded your Blackberry OS 4.0, that you can have the Blackberry Browser feature provisioned to the account. Basically, what you have to do is call customer care, and tell them that you need assistance with adding HTML to your Blackberry. They will usually transfer you to the ANS department without too much hassle. I had the feature provisioned on my employee line today, and within a few hours I had a new icon on my ribbon screen that allowed me HTML access. From what my Blackberry rep told me, is that this is the standard browser that is not Carrier branded. Hope this helps. Any further questions please email me

This is indeed true - had the BB browser activated a couple of weeks ago by AT&T rep. The first rep I talked to gave me some BS about how may BES admin had to do this - I just called back and another rep did it for me. So if it doesn't work, try again!

This can also be performed through their online technical livechat. Just ask for the "RIM Blackberry Browser" to be provisioned to your Blackberry device.

So does this mean that Cingular Blue has rolled out BWC 4.0? hmm I might be staying a legacy customer with my BB for awhile then if this is the case ;)

I don't think so - they've been doing this for 3.8 users.

hmm, wonder when blue/orange will roll out BWC 4.0 then. At least this means I can get HTML. Will be calling them in a few minutes myself. Thanks for the information.

If it ain't out for the 7290, then it ain't out... period.

Just kidding, but myself and probably many other 7290 owners here keep looking everytime someone says it's out.

Cheers,
Steve

Again, it won't be long before the carriers release OS4 for the 7290. I have it from the beta site and have been running it on the few 7290's we have here and have been pleased (though I don't have one myself yet so I haven't been able to test all the features). Patience, it won't be long now.
