Default Faulting application DesktopMgr.exe

Please Login to Remove!

The DesktopMgr application would die right after synchronizing with all the calendar appointments. Here's the Application Log:

What os are you running on your computer? You could try running it in compatiliblity mode as xp or something.

I use Vista 32bit. I got it sync with my calendars but it seemed that the error is coming from syncing with address book. It received an popup error message that says "Unable to read application data".

For some reason, since this new installation of the manager, I have received a couple dozen of these emails:

Quote:

Is this legit? What am I suppose to do? I do not want to sync emails. I just want calendar, tasks, and address book if possible.

So another word, if I do NOT want to use Redirector, I should uninstall and and reinstall with "BlackBerry Internet Service option", correct?

This is frustrating. It does NOT work. After the reinstalltion nothing is sync. During the installation I did not see the "BlackBerry Internet Service" option being available.

Here's what I see that might relate to this issue.

Okay, so my biggest question is, why is it that now the calendar does not sync with Outlook? One more thing, why is it that after the setting to sync with Outlook's calendar, BB Desktop manager wants to create a local .pst for the personal folder and also for calendar? What happens next is that BB Desktop Manager automatically delete my calendar and personal .pst files and replace with the one that I just finished configuring in BB Desktop Manager? This sounds insane. Why would BB replace my .pst files? Again, all I wanted is to sync with my calendar. Nothing else!

Where it says Integrate with a personal email account, do you see the text under that option "select this option if you purchased your device in a store or you want to create a new email address using the BlackBerry Internet Service."? That's the option that you want to choose.

After you its all installed, you will have to go to Sync, and get your sync settings correct in order for you to sync your outlook calendar entries

Thanks for the response. That's the option I chose as shown in the image above but the sync just doesn't work. First of, why does BB Desktop Manger creates its own .PST files? It does not recognized mapped network drives so it's got to have it on the local drive. There is not much in the settings. I'm not sure where else to check why it's not syncing.

These are what I've tried before and it's still no sync:

Quote:
1. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click Synchronize.
2. Under the configure heading click Synchronization.
3. Click Synchronization.
4. The Select Device Application window will appear.
5. Select Calendar.
6. Select the appropriate application to synchronize with, and click Next.
7. Configure synchronization direction, and click Next.
8. The following settings can be modified:

* Transfer all scheduled items
* Transfer only future items
* Transfer items within a range of days. Type a value in the Days prior to today and Days after today fields.
Any other suggestions?

Many thanks for those who have helped me thus far. I'm happy to report that I'm moving on to iPhone 3GS. I'm tired of fiddling with settings via USB. With iPhone I can sync it directly to the Exchange server.
