Question Password Required Policy - Question

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a very newbee at creating IT policies on the BES and have a question about the Password Required option.

The company I support wishes to shut off the password on the handhelds (I don't agree, but that's another can of worms). So, I want to disable the password by setting the Password Required to true. My question has to do with the timeout on the machine.

I know setting the Password Required policy to falue will make the policy rule Set Password Timeout not used, but what about the policy rule Maximum Security Timeout?

My customer wants to remove the password and disable the timeout.

Thanks in advance.

First you would actually want to set the Password Required option to FALSE so that it doesn't require a password from users on that IT Policy, as for the Maximum Security Timeout option there is not a way to actually disable the timeout feature if Password is Required, as far as I'm concerned...

If the Password Required option was set to FALSE - would that mean the Maximum Security Timeout option would be ignored and the handhelds would not timeout?

Thanks again in advanced..

Yes, exactly the case..

The Security Max Timeout is only enable is the handhelds Password Required option is enabled or if the password is just enabled on the handheld but no required on the BES..
