does this give GPS to Storm users on Verizon? If so, where do we get it?

Default "Show in Google Map" not available

I updated to 3.0.1 today. I have a problem thought that I'm not sure is user error or a bug in the release. I used to have a selection in my address book called "Show in Google Maps", but since the upgrade this has disappeared. Is anyone else having this issue? I have my all my gmaps permissions set to allow.

doesn't do anything about true GPS connection on Verizon - still using cell towers on GPSa for an approximate location (within 3000 meters for me)

Once I used the GPS to set my location on Latitude and turn GPS back off my google maps can no longer give me my location via cell triangulation.

Matter of fact i can get any fix any more unless i use the gps.

Haven't looked but if you set your location manually in Latitude might that disable triangulation. Let us know.

No. I even uninstalled and reinstalled 2.3.2 and have no triangulation anymore.

Having problems installing this app. I have an 8100 with version gmm 2.3.2 installed and when I try to go to m.google.com/maps it doesn't install the app.

I also used the "send me an SMS" link on the gmm page to try to install this OTA, but that does not work either. It displays the gmm page with a link, but when I click the link it takes me to the google home page.

I recently updated to OS 4.5 from 4.2.

Any ideas?

Hey creepy, make sure your Browser Identification is set to "BlackBerry", then try the link/page again.

An app isn't going to bypass the restrictions set in place by VZW.

Thank you Shaun! I didn't know that was an option, it must have been reset to IE when I did the OS upgrade.

Yes it is.. I've been on it since it's been out and have gotten lots of updated Google software. Just updated myself. The Browser Emulation was my problem, just like the guy above.

Works just fine on all the 4.5 devices here. Also, the problem was due to creepy's browser settings, not his OS version.

Why, why, WHY do people keep perpetuating the "VZW gps restrictions" crappola? I have four, count-em four, gps applications running very nicely on my Storm. As do a bunch of other people!

Default A little help please

Ok, I'm still do not have the capability to have "Show in Google Maps" in by contacts with this release. Do any of the mods or anyone for that matter have any idea why this may be?
