Default Noticed The Weirdest Thing

Please Login to Remove!

I loaded the leaked .113 for my 9530. I am unlocked and on AT&T. I have bb Maps installed and was using it to get my GPS setting. As soon as I loaded the AT&T Service books the icon disappeared.

What in a service book can make an icon dissapear?

Any thoughts? I though it was connected to the LBS.alx

Yes, as the posts states:

This has been explained many times but is buried in hundreds of pages of posts. Here is a tutorial for "unlocking" BBMaps on AT&T and a few other carrier devices.

Question: The BBMaps icon will not show on my device. I see BlackberryMaps in my application list but can’t find it on my device.

Answer: AT&T and some other European carriers, including Orange, have decided that they make more money selling mapping subscriptions than allowing you access to BBMaps.
There are a lot of people on AT&T that complain about this.

What dont you get here? Its not an AT&T Phone. Its a verizon phone. The icon was there and disappeared when the I changed my APN settings and my service books.

I am not asking how to fix it. So stop referencing your post that links to a post that does not answer my question please.

I am simply wondering if a service book or apn setting can have this effect on hiding icons?

I understand it's a Verizon device, however you're getting AT&T service, therefore AT&T service books. I've read other posts where AT&T refuses to push the service books for BBMaps.

If you are indeed on Verizon, then I am incorrect as is your profile.

No I am on at&t. but with a verzion phone. I have the service books for bbmaps. And BBmaps is there untill i send my service books for my two BIS emails. when those two sevice books (actually 4) show up the icon disappears. The link your supplying is for people with at&t software/phones and lbs.alx's. Because at&t does not make the phone it has no vendor id in the lbs.alx file for the 9530, therefore nothing to remove. What i dont understand is how my two email account service books can hide an icon. (the bbmaps service book stays in the list)

When you send service books, it sends all service books, not just for the 2 email accounts. I believe that is where your issue is.

So if i can find away to only give myself the 4 for email we think i should be able to do it right?

Which is all pointless because i am not trying to use it, but somewhere some service book is saying "I dont want to see you" to the BB maps icon.

There for it is possable for a service book to inactivate items on your phone.

Making her a witch!!!!!! Burn Her.
