I have a new Torch 9800 on which there is no icon for the Blackberry Maps App.
I have uninstalled and re-installed it but the problem is still the same.

Ant ideas how to resolve this problem?

Some carriers block BB Maps for whatever reason.

Try installing Google Maps. I like it better. And you will need a BB data plan to run any map application.

Most carriers that block the RIM maps do it via the theme. Read the posts the charitable OP above gave and you will a few ideas. It does work well.

Just a theme change will not bring it back on AT&T. Their way of blocking, or hiding it really, goes deeper that that.

I just added a workaround to the AT&T block on the forum post listed above. I hope it helps.

Wow. I haven't visited this site in months. It's good to know that people still don't search and ask the same questions over and over.

I'll never understand it. People will spend all that time authoring a post instead of doing a simple search. Like the map question hasn't been asked 1,857,857 times.
