Default Why are my curve 3g buttons doing the wrong thing?

so yeah my curve 3g buttons are completely spazzing out. the keypad works fine but when im on my homescreen pressing the the green and red call buttons, the blackberry button, the esc button and the tracker button all go to the call screen as if your typing in a number to call someone, where a load of random letters come up.

HELP!?

I think NJ is onto something.

Start with a removing the battery for about 30 seconds.
