Default Battery is SO WEIRD!!

Please Login to Remove!

I have curve 8330.. Whenever I am in class, I turn it off. So my Blackberry that was fully charged 100% is turned off for 8 hours. And I turned it on after 8 hours, and my batter was at 75%.. What kind of phone consumes battery when it's completely turned off??

It is a brand new BB.. I realized that my wireless and sprint tv was turned on, but still.. the phone was turned off.. Is something wrong?

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

If you have a bunch of applications running in the background they would run your battery down

Just out of curiosity -- and you may think this is a stupid request -- how did you turn it off?

I tried both ways. I have turned off from the application menu once. Also one time, I turned off through the power button. Both times, battery life was consumed even though the phone was turned off.

It's a blackberry... It's easy to turn them back on easily. The only way to TRULY turn it off is to take out the battery and put it back in and not pressing anything. If indeed you do this and the battery is STILL decreasing in charge throughout the day, you probably have a battery leak. That doesn't mean that the battery is physically leaking, it just means that it leaks out a little bit of charge every so often. In this case you would want to call up RIM (Blackberry) and tell them the battery is disfunctional. Hope this helps!

Incorrect - popping the battery in reboots and the device is ON.

OP - try removing the battery for the full 8 hours and see what battery life is at when you boot up again. Curious if the battery is bad and not holding a good charge. If it drops while it's not in the device, then you know it's a bad battery.

Funny you mention this problem, my wife had the same problem. She is a teacher and would turn off her phone, put it in her purse and place her purse in a filing cabinet. when she would turn her phone on the battery would be compleatly drained. She made sure all options were turned off (bluetooth etc..) and still had the same problem. we had the phone replaced, still had the same problem. She decided to leave the phone in the car and after 8 hours had 100% charge! Maybe schools with all the computer and wireless, may have drained the battery?
