I love my 7520. And I sold my 7510 on e-bay when I got my 7520. I now have 2 7520's (One as a backup) so when the 8702 is out I will sell one of my 7520's on e-bay and keep the other as a backup.

I have the 7520 and 7100i. I will probably sell the 7520 to get the 8702

I have followed their history, but you're wrong about the 7520. As I discovered when I went to a Nextel corporate store to buy the Extended Battery Door for the 7520, RIM's official name for the 7520's color is Arctic Black. So, RIM definitely considers it black.

They might consider it black, but anyone who can differentiate between colors can tell that the 7520 is blue.

I've been looking at my 7520 under all sorts of lighting conditions for over a year now. And in that time, it's always looked like a metallic black to me... well, nearly black. It's obviously a tad lighter than true black, as verified by comparison to the antenna, scroll wheel and Esc key... more of an extremely dark grey. But it's never looked like a dark blue to me. That would make it look more like the color of T-Mobile's 8700g, which is very obviously a metallic navy blue.

Well, for us Canadian folk, considering that Telus just released the 7100i last month (and it's a mighty fine device) we're probably waiting at least another year before we see the 8702 (assuming that the rumours are true).

Oh well. I can wait a year. The 7100i was worth the wait, so I can't see why this one wouldn't be as well.

It never occured to me that my BB was blue. I'm looking at it now and I'd still say black, but I guess I could be convinced otherwise.

The 7100i operates on iDEN, the Nextel network, and will not use EV-DO.

Ive been thinking.. Since all 8700s so far support high speed data, and the Iden network is not capable of hi speed, maybe this will be the first hybrid?

I think it may support WiDEN, but that's about it. The 8700s for GSM don't support UMTS or HSDPA.

Default News from local nextel store

Hi all. I've been lurking for a while but I am kind of excited about the nextel 8700. Anyway today as I was passing by a Nextel kiosk at the mall the sales person stopped me. We started talking and he told me that they will be receiving a new blackberry in two weeks. I'm not sure if this is accurate but that is what he said.

Sprint is launching the 7130 - a CDMA device - the end of May.

Bad News! The Nextel BlackBerry 8702 is not coming out until SEPTEMBER!

bbhub.com/2006/05/10/new-info-on-sprintnextel-8702-see-you-in-september/

I'm pissed! I had my hopes pretty high for this one. The could sell a lot more phones if they would just make them available. I know, R&D, testing, etc.
