There have been 0 carrier release notes on either device. And both devices are pure rumor since nothing official has come from ANYONE. there is now way to tell at this time.

Sith, you must have lightning in your fingers. Thanks for the quick reply. Can you answer another one for me, I am confused. I have a8830 from Verizon, with the upcoming OS's out, will I need to get them from Verizon or just download them anywhere. Will 4.3,4.5 etc work on my 8830 and what will be the benefit?
Thanks
David

Having the 8830 from Verizon, is it a real upgrade getting the Curve? I really don't need a camera but HTML email and nicer Web Browser would be nice. What are the other big advantages of the Curve over the 8830?

The curve has a camera, video, 8gb media card support, 4.3.0.xx OS, more RAM and more internal memory. HTML email will be supported with 4.5 OS on devices back to the 8700.

If you want the latest and greatest BBs, you won't find them on Verizon.

Question about storm ?
If vzw does it might be priced less as the xv6800 is the most expensive bb they have now at 420 with a full contract ?

LOL I was thinking the exact same thing. The xv6800 doesn't even look like a blackberry, nor does it run an OS that is even close. Maybe he made a mistake and meant to post a different unit? OR he is one of those that use the word blackberry as a descriptive term for ANY device with a keyboard and can do email? lol Much like my mom calls ANY portable mp3 player an iPod. I got a creative zen she always calls an iPod.

Au contraire - what you should say is "if you want the LATEST BBs, you won't find them on Verizon."
The current "greatest" BB (I know it is subjective to a point), IS actually on Verizon (or other CDMA carriers) from a purely specs standpoint.

PS - Not looking to argue btw...just my opinion.

That's like saying that the 1990 Geo Metro is the best car because its got good gas mileage, and they just happen to release a 1990's car brand new in 2008. Since I am in my own little island and its the only new thing they have released there, its downright the best dag gummit since ... I have no other choices anyway.

um...ok. whatever you say dude.
i'm simply saying that the latest BB device (curve) on CDMA can be considered the best BB out right now.
and your Geo Metro analogy fails because you are assuming that an old model was simply re-released later when in fact the CDMA models get other upgrades.

On my island, I can get a 1990 geo metro with a new 2008 stereo system, 3rd party fog lamps, and a turbo charger from 2005! Doesn't make it a new car ... just newly added stuff.
And ... if you took offense to that you take your phones way too seriously. It was just a silly analogy. Smell roses, live life.

the only "upgrade" it got was more memory, and a newer OS (which is also coming out for every other device)... nothing else

And 3G Internet with the ability to check email and talk voice at the same time. But that in trade for battery life far less than my GSM curve. To be fair, the BB 9000 will have HSDPA in the GSM one, taking down its battery life too. BUT, at least in the GSM model we will be able to turn OFF 3G to conserve battery and still have EDGE data. CDMA variants will not have that option (luxury). And just the fact it is CDMA will still guarantee worse battery life even with data turned off.
BUT I still see Verizon as being a really good carrier. I have been with them for a very long time, but my love for devices is what causes me to go to AT&T (verizon sucks with new and good units). If phone manufacturers magically decided to produce lots of CMDA phones, and the selection was better, I would most definitely go back to Verizon.
