Anyone know when this is hitting the Verizon stores? I call and they say the end of the month....could this be right?

Get a list of all the verizon stores in your area and call them all. There's a decent chance that some have them already and will sell it now, others won't sell it until this Thursday, but you can expect to be able to pick one up then for sure.

I called 4 stores today. Here's the responses from each store:

1) It should be available by Thanksgiving
2) Maybe in 2 weeks
3) Try next Monday
4) We have them, but can't sell them until Thursday

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but it really amazes me how either clueless or uninterested VZW employees are. But guess what store I'll be heading to Thursday night.

I also tried calling a few stores and my verizon rep under the merit program - they have no idea whats going on.

1. Some said available on the 21st.
2. Verizon said Friday the 9th.
3. E-Services rep said you can't get discount pricing if bought online ... wow.

Exactly! Out of 4 stores I called...all said PROBABLY by the end of the month. No one had any clue of anything. One store did not even know it was available on-line. Do these guys get informed or have any clue of anything. I will repeat what was said prior to me....AMAZING!

I stop by two stores in Flushing Queens myself this morning and no luck.
One was a big Verizon store which had no clue of the Pearl. and the small
Verizon store stated they wont get it till a month later after the release.

Im in Fort Worth, TX and my store has them in stock and on display. They are $419.99 full retail plus a $50 mail in rebate.

I just received my Pearl 8130 from Verizon today through my business account. I had to order it online though since the rep or the customer service said they could not order until the 8th. I will have to update with my impressions. I am coming from the 8830. I also have downloaded the VZNav.

I gave up ... yup - I have a new curve and VZW can suck-m-b. Hello AT&T. Trying to get their pearl was just impossible.

I went into my local Verizon store here in Sioux Falls and ordered mine on Monday. Recieved it less than 24 hours later via FedEx.

I'm not sure I understand you. VZW sucks because they wouldn't sell you a Pearl before the release date? You do know that release date is tomorrow right? If getting a phone on it's release date is considered impossible, then, well...good luck in your future endeavors.

I think most people here would tell you it's a smart decision as long as you're willing to spend the extra $30 a month for data. Phone wise, there is no comparison...the Pearl is one of the most powerful and feature filled phones Verizon offers.

So I just got my pearl 2! We got 4 8830's and 2 8130's through my rep. $50 for each phone! Cant wait till its charged so I can jack with it!
