Default Telenav and Sprint 8830

Does anyone know if Telenav will work on the Sprint 8830? I can't locate it on their website, or if another version/carrier would work, thanks.

Since Sprint and TeleNav have an extremely strong partnership I would assume that TeleNav would work with the new 8830 from Sprint. I am sure the TeleNav group would have been on the BETA list with the device to get their product to work with the new Sprint BB. With all that said there is no where that I have seen this validated. I do have a TeleNav contact and will reach out to him. Another thing to think about is since the 8830 is only available through the business channels right now and is not posted on the Sprint website it may be the same case for TeleNav supporting the device. Will let you know.

Just got confirmation that the TeleNav product is NOT yet supported on the 8830. I am hearing "Very Soon" and "Couple of Weeks" as the supported dates. I am assuming they are working on a new release that supports the product and apparently have no timeline on the release as of yet. Will keep you posted as I hear more. Thanks.

Telenav now available for 8830 Verizon:

OTA link :TeleNav

Although intended for Verizon, I downloaded it and in setup I changed the GPS from Bluetooth (for Vz users) to Internal (for Sprint) and it seems to work just fine.

Link? I can not find it in the Sprint software store or from the download section of the Sprint BB homepage.

I just tried and the above works, thanks for the heads up. The only issue I had was after the install, telenav seemed to turn off all communcations, voice and data except for emergence calls, I turned the unit off then back on and all is well.

It's called "Wirelss Web" in the Links section of your BB Browser bookmarks, then Downlaod Applications then Sprint Software Store then Sprint Navigation.

I am an existing Telenav customer, how much is Sprint charging for this re-brand, the same 10 bucks as telenav?

Does not appear that way on my BB, when I get to the Sprint Software Store I have Applications, Games, Ringers and screensavers to select from, no Sprint Nav option there or under any of the links. It appears to be a selection of handmark software. Cache cleared.

Follow the directions exactly - open the browser, click the link for Wireless Web, then Download Applications, then Sprint Software Store, then Sprint Navigation. Don't use the link to the Sprint Software Store from your home screen, use the link in the browser's bookmarks.

OK, so I downloaded the VZW version directly from Telenav (via the OTA link above) AND also the "Sprint Navigator" version directly from Sprint. I set up the straight from Telenav version first, using my PIN.

Then, I installed the Sprint version and it recognized me as a subscriber, so I think I'm covered.

I still don't have my favorites, though.

Both VZW and Sprint versions. They're no longer on my Telenav page either. No huge deal, just never lost them all before during an upgrade.

WHOOPS! Nevermind, they're all in my "Recent Places".
