The upgrade went extremely smooth. In fact it went so smooth it was scary. The process from start to finish took 40 min (this included doing the Db backup and reg backup as well as upgrading the BRK utilities). After the upgrade was complete and the services came back up the mail started flowing within minutes. In the past it has taken as long as 15 min or so for mail to start flowing again...RIM has gotten the upgrades down to a smooth process which is very nice.

Wished mine went as smooth. I installed a BES 4.1.4 into our production database which has a BES 4.1.2 HF3. After the BES 4.1.4 install I can no longer do EA on the BES 4.1.2.

Just got off the phone with TS. TS mentioned there is an issue with mix version environment even though the documentation says you can have any version of BES 4.1 living together.

They are not sure if that applies to my issue or not.

Keep us posted on this issue as this will be good info to know for future reference.

Email from RIM Tech Support:

"In order for the Enterprise Activation to work properly on the other servers we will have to upgrade all the servers to the same version which in this case would be v4.1.4"

So basically they are saying when you upgrade one server to 4.1.4, you better upgrade them ALL to 4.1.4 even though the documentation states otherwise.

I believe we call events such as these "undocumented features which may or may not directly impact in possibly an adverse way the functionality in your unique environment." In RIM-speak: "D'OH!!"

4.1.3 database changed a few things that's why you got that answer. 4.1.3 is not compatible with lower versions unfortunately.

Well, I wish the documentation stated that.

RIM has confirmed/reproduced an issue with BES 4.1.4 for Domino and Sametime.

There's an issue where users in an idle away state would be displayed with an offline icon on the BB Sametime client.
