Exclamation Secure a stolen phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Quick one: Had a phone stolen.

If I add a new device password can I then delete organisation data too?

Or is there a better way to permanently make the phone inoperable?

I figure wiping it leaves it open for the culprit to rebuild.

if the phone is turned off, most of them are, not much more you can do but do password lock it for now.

you can set IT policy to make it more difficult for some one to conenct to it but theifs will come here asking how to remove the IT policy.

going forward you should have a password policy and a low time out threshold depend on how valuable your data is.

My IT Policy is set to wipe the phone if it doesn't receive a refresh of the IT Policy after 30 days (which also means you do have to send the IT Policy out regardless of whether it's changed). So even if they've turned it off, it will eventually wipe itself. But frankly, the password does the same thing and you only get so many tries before it wipes too

Cheers for the info guys. So I guess a full wipe is the safest for data protection but means the phone will be useable again. Nevermind.
