According to Tom Tom they say they cannot support every phone that comes on the market!!

I had a TT520 and this worked perfectly for all features, Traffic, data transfer, address book, hands free, everything.
I got a newer model TT720 thinking there would be no problem, there wasn't, everything connected fine, then one day it didn't and hasn't since.

Nothing to do with OS or the way its connected, its not supported, so won't work.
I am still not amused!!

Does anyone know if you can still make phone calls while the TomTom is using the BB for data? I thknk I remember someone on this newsgroup who was able to get their Tomom synced and a bluetooth headset. This wold suggest that you could still use the phone?

Thanks,
Craig

This should be able to be used with 3G service. However in EDGE and GPRS you cannot have both voice and data at the same time.

I was able to get my BOLD to work with my 930 by selecting the 8800 as the phone model. First time it didn't work, second time it did! I was able to do hands free and data. Only thing that was a little strange is when i pushed my phone book I got no names only the numbers. I have AT&T service when asked what carrier I had I entered Cingular Wireless (media works).
It is a little spastic at times but it does work.

I also have a TomTom 720 that I tried to hook up to the BOLD but it did not work.

I spent hours trying to get my Blackberry 8900 to work with my Tom Tom G 930T on Traffic Services.... Went thru Access Point name suggestions, etc., I found on all of these posts to no results.....

Then I saw a crazy looking wire with adaptor in my box, and I plugged it in.... It was the radio wire for the Tom Tom, and the damn thing works now! Traffic is just fine... I never needed to do all of the other stuff like trying to find my model, compatibility, etc.... Hope this will save someone else hours of frustration!

I made some step by step instuctions that may help... I posted them separately in this forum. Just be sure to use carrier-specific options.

I had to sign up just to say YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did what you said and I finally got my TomTom Go 730 to pair up with my Blackberry Curve!!!!! Yay!!!!!

In the blackberry I went to:
options/bluetooth/press menu button/choose options/ **change Discoverable *** to YES.

then i was able to pair it!

Trying to use the GO 730 as a car speakerphone for my Curve 8310 where audio comes through car speakers via FM Transmission or AUX cable. Any ideas? I can pair and use the GO 730's internal speaker but that's a pretty weak speaker.

finally got my 8900 to transfer data to tom tom 730...

i chose 8800 as my phone model
this fails, and then i chose manual set up
i only changed 2 things in the manual set up, everything else is kept the same and chose auto detect for DNS and IP address
i changed user name to t-mobile
i changed dial to *99***1#
this worked for me and now i have data services on my tom tom 730 through my blackberry 8900
hope this helps!!!
