I'm having trouble deleting Facebook messages from my main menu. Can anyone offer any advice on how to get rid of them?

Re: Deleting messages
If i get a message on FB i get a notification in the envelope icon (Email) section of my BB. some i can get rid of, others i can't. It stays as a faded colour message. it's odd I know.

Re: Deleting messages
Have you tried a hard reset yet? If not, with the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. Do that and then try again.

Not tried that yet. Won't I loose all my information though?

Re: Deleting messages
No. You won't lose anything because of the battery pull. If you don't trust me, do a full backup first.

Re: Deleting messages
Battery pull fixes almost all weird stuff almost all of the time.
Short of the cases of flakey keyboard and button issues, it is THE first thing to try. (And for flakey keyboard issues, pull the battery and keep it out, and go read the FAQ.)

Re: Deleting messages FB
I am unable to delete all of FB messages as well. I want the messages to come in my mail inbox so I don't want to turn that off. I did a hard reset several times and after that, I am able to delete MOST of them but not all. Why are only a few remaining and can't be deleted? They are deleted on the FB site itself but remain on the handset. Any ideas?

Re: Deleting messages
Are the messages saved? Look in saved messages folder.

Re: Deleting messages
They are not saved. I just tried a hard reset again. It left ones from yesterday and today. It makes no sense to me why a few are still on there but most are deleted.
I may return the phone for another BB or switch from BB next time. FB isn't even working on my handset right now. I had to go online.

Re: Deleting messages
Ok...Do the battery pull again. Do it with the power on. Wait two or three minutes this time.

Re: Deleting messages
Look, this a user to user forum, no association with RIM.
I don't use facebook, but still it seems to me what you are seeing is either very unusual or I'm not understanding.
See what others say, but if you are still unable to delete messages after a proper hard reset -- and if indeed these are old messages and not newly arrived messages -- then I would conclude your messages data base is corrupted. I'll say though that in the years and several BlackBerrys I've been through, I've never had an issue such as this.
You might try clearing just the messages database with desktop manager. Do a backup first. If you have been doing backups, selectively restore the next oldest backup and test.
