Please Login to Remove!

Hmm.. i got somewhat of an update for my own question.. I called my provider and they told me i need to have the 4.1 software first and then i am able to update to 4.1.4

But where exactly can i obtain the BES 4.1 software ? I dont see that on blackberry's website. Only hotfixes and service packs.

Any help would be appreciated

Sound like you're trying to install the 4.1 service pack over a 4.0 BES which would explain why it won;t work. You need to move from 4.0.x to 4.1.0 before you can update to SP4. 4.1 is a chargable update, not a service pack so you will need to speak with your reseller on this.

If you do go to 4.1 SP4 do yourself a favor and go straight to SP4 ... don't install 4.1 and then upgrade to SP4.

Especially if you have two BES servers sharing a config DB. 1 BES to 1 config DB isn't so bad to go to 4.10 then 4.1.4, but much cleaner to go straight to 4.1.4. AFAIK yo u have to contact reseller or Blackberry for the full 4.1.4 install.

AlanM's got it right, but to re-iterate 4.1 was a CHARGEABLE upgrade by RIM, therefore you will not see 4.1 as a free download. If you contact your reseller then they can provide you with the direct sw to upgrade to 4.1.4, but expect to pay for it!
