You left out the most important poll option. That could be the problem.
Remember, even some users "don't care", hence our Forum-mandated poll option for Beer, in all polls.

This is my very first Blackberry after swearing by Windows Mobile for 6-7 years. Best phone ever, and ashamed I waited so long to experiance RIM.

You know what, I have two family members who i didn't even know had a storm, that I was with last month. Both of them love it, no problems, just part of the happy masses, I guess part of the > 50% who are happy.

I voted. "power user SATISFIED". I love my storm but it is clearly not for everyone.
And while I am at it and...apologize for thread crapping, but I am curious.. I would like to ask the more veteran BBF members: has every new device roll out in the past had this kind of breadth and depth of threads regarding pro/con discussions, polls, love/hate, discourse, etc? I was a lurker when I got my 950 and joined when I got my 7100t. (been through 7130e, 8830, 8130, 8330) but don't recall this much bru ha ha when the those devices/etc came out. Am I correct or -typically- misinformed?

I love my Strom. It's not my first BB and it won't be my last, I'm sure...

Kopter, as I recall with the intro of the Pearl (the first multimedia and trackball device) there were many, many similar threads of "Its the end for RIM", "this won't fly--EVER", "I want my trackwheel back", "this POS is crap", "RIM is failing, its just a kiddie device", and on and on and on.

thanks for the replies! I couldn't recall the similarly fashioned 'noise'. Or because I owned the devices; I suppose I just ignored it. So now, I will do the same.
But I do hope the... eh...storm... over the STORM dies out soon. Until then, I vow to avoid those kinds of threads, keep my posts relevant, and not partake in the extended discourse.
No offense to the OP intended.

i voted power user satisfied...but that will quickly deminish to "pissed-off maybe-satisified" if a new official 9530 OS installer isn't handed down to us from RIM any time soon....

H-U-G-E learning curve, BUT worth it!
3 years as a power user on the Pearl. Now on the Storm.
As stated, it was a very large learning curve for me (as I was used to driving with my left hand, while being able to email with only my right thumb), BUT after spending a solid 4 weeks on the Storm I am a believer!
The first week was dreadful, like forcing someone to write with their other hand.
All's well and good at the business front

I voted power user satified. I might even consider power user very satisfied.
RIM is working to make the Storm better, as always Verizon takes FOREVER to get new OS builds out. When I run into random people in Malls and work that have personal Storms I often ask what they think of it and how it's working. I still run into people with OS .65 and after showing them how to update and what to tweak it's like a kid waking up Christmas morning.
Verizon and or RIM would see a huge benefit if they promoted education around the Storm more and showed users what the device can be. Similar to when they have the power user meetings. Get all an area's Storm buyers and send them an email / SMS inviting them to a "Getting to know your Storm" session on a Sat afternoon or evening. Even an hour spent would greatly improve most users experience with the device.
Now the other side is some people are just not touch screen users. I'm in the middle .. I don't hate it now but I don't love it. I'd go back to a keypad based BB with the same screen size and often use the Bold I also have often. What Storm does it's very good at and a reason it's still my day to day device 5 months after getting it.
The first week or two is painful as you basically have to re-learn how to use the device. It's not like the iPhone or any previous Blackberry. Understand that and accept what its not and you will adjust and find its strengths.
