Yes I know what a fail is haha. I was more polling on how people were getting the fail I've gotten both the red x with the resend option and the upload sitting in limbo for hours (at which point I consider that a fail it simply isn't going to happen).
Even on some occasion's I've tried sending the photo again with the one sitting in limbo and then they both go through or just the new one.

Been having the same issue since upgrading to FB ver 1.7 a few weeks ago. Most days, no pics will go thru...red X usually, sometimes the infinite send as previously mentioned here. Once in a great while (sometimes even a blue moon like we had recently) I can get a photo to upload.

Seems to be directly correlated to the new FB upgrade, but only on certain devices (??) as my wifes Pearl Flip has not had an issue at all.

The following worked for me that was posted on the crackberry forums:

Quote:
Goto Camera on the Blackberry, then click on Options. Then change Picture Size to Medium (1024 x 768). I was able to upload from my BB now.
I have NEVER had a problem uploading pictures until I upgraded my BB facebook app... so i'm guessing its a bug in the application where it can not optimize the photo enough for upload if the photos are set to 1600x1200. Or its Verizon and they are not allowing large photos to be uploaded.

I'm having the same problem with 1.7 on my 8320 on T-Mo. It worked one day just fine and then the next day it started giving me the, "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server" error and hasn't worked since. :(

Check the size of the photos that didnt get uploaded. They will be larger than the ones that made it. Change your camera settings to 1024 x 768 and try again.

Tamakh, I doubt it can be a size issue, I just tried to upload a picture that I had used the zoom feature to take, the file is only 71k, and is 528x400 pixels...it didn't go through. I can't get one through at all anymore...kinda ridiculous...

Thats sucks. The size change worked for me. I would call your phone company to see if they messed up your account.

I tried uploading photos and seen them fail, after re-sending them once/twice they upload fine.

I have noticed the latest facebook does not always alert me for new wall posts.. I mean I receive the facebook notification but their are no new messages for me.

Wirelessly posted

I sometimes have that problem on my 8900, but only when I have a low signal. Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

I have had the upload fail more often that succeed lately.
Problems exist both in uploading from Media > Pictures > select image > Send/Share to Facebook, or if uploading direct from withIN the Facebook application itself.

What's your experience?

Device Model:
OS release (Options > About, third line down):
Facebook version (Options > Advanced > Applications):
I've got the 8330 curve. cant upload either. same error message. --only w/ fb. tried what someone said..w/ the camera thing & options, reducing size to medium,--didnt work. I'd love to be able to just take a pic w my phone and upload to fb...and send!!! but cant!

so basically, from what i can gather, there is no real solution only a round about fix (using the mms method) as it appears that rim is not going to make an update that will fix the problem........... i think that sums it up in a nutshell

sloppster, it might help if you posted the info requested above in the initial post, rather than just summing things up already.

This has happened to me just once. I had to keep clicking "resend" over and over until it worked. Facebook app does seem to be acting up more than usual lately.

Default Changing picture size works!

I have an 8330 curve and have had this problem for a while. I just tested changing my camera options picture size to medium and uploaded just fine. Then I tried changing picture size back to large and it is still trying to upload... wait, just failed. So it seems changing picture size to medium solves the issue for me.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person having this exact same problem. Has anyone been able to nail down a solution since the inception of this thread?
