This was a huge problem for 97. Unfortunately, a browser glitch remains. When rolling over a text field, it doesn't always want to type in the box. Sometimes you have to go to select mode and then view mode to get it to work. Seems to leak less memory.

Did anyone notice abnormally massive battery drainage with this version?

Yes I have. It only seemed to take a few hours to be down to 75% or below.
I physically pulled the battery out recharged it to 100% and now from 6:30 till 9:30 I just got to 95%...so we shall see

I wasn't aware of the feature either. Great find on the alternate way of getting to it...

I have noticed it, too. It's performance is at about 60% of what the battery use to be able to hold before the software update (i.e. 5 hours talk time before would be three hours now).

Memory seems to fluctuate still from 16 to 9.

My battery seems to be doing much better after a physical battery pull (no softreset like usual). I charged it to 100% and left it on my night stand in its case till morning 9 hours later is only dropped 5% after receiving a few txts, and waking me up with the alarm.

Just finished loading last night it took about an hour. I had the .89 version prior and didn't have any issues other than my Sprint radio would not play, now it plays perfect and the upgrade was successful.

Default trouble with mms

I just installed the new OS, but I still don't see the option for MMS on my phone. Can anybody explain why this is? (By the way, i'm not very advanced with my knowledge of the phone, so if somebody could explain what steps I would need to take to get MMS i would appreciate it)

Hey thanks for that find! It is a very convenient little shortcut. Glad it's still available, although in a slightly different manner.

To enable MMS you need to resend your service books either through the BIS site or on your phone as discussed previously in this thread. Once Sprint pushes the new books down you'll be in business. FYI should list MMS settings in options once you've done it.

I resent my service books a number of different ways (through BIS, contacted sprint), and none of them seemed to work with activating MMS. When I called customer service, the rep told me that I should not have upgraded to the new OS because there were still a good amount of bugs on it, and that multiple people did not have MMS and it would take a few weeks for me to receive it. Did anybody else have this problem?

Another example of why Reps are idiots. You should have updated
first go into Options>Advanced Options>Service Book
See if MMS client and MMS Transport is listed

if you haven't try a battery pull. If that doesn't work there is something where you go into

options>Advanced options>host routing table> menu/then select register now

Default Delay in lighting up the screen after being idle?

Strange.. Physically removing my battery seemed to fix mine also.

Does anyone notice a delay in getting the screen to light up again after going dark? My screen turns off after 10 seconds of inactivity, but when I press a button to light it up again right after it goes dark, sometimes it delays for a whole second or two before lighting up again. Usually it lights up really fast if I wait longer and try lighting it up 20 seconds after going dark, but even now sometimes it takes that whole second or two.
Is this happening to anyone else? For me this is only happening with this version.

Unhappy sloooow down

I installed from the Rim website for my Alltell 8130. No noticeable differences except that response time seems to be way slower - especially for games. Only data lost was my profile in THK3 - oh well $300M gone.

So what was the point with this release? I don't suppose you can restore back to the old version.

yeah I actually seem to have really good battery life now. It took 7 hours of good use to get to 85% today.

The backlight is an odd thing. It seems to sometimes be quick and slower others. Some have mentioned useing the space button or back button instead of the track ball and that makes it recover quicker and I can confirm it does seem to. I don't know if its a glitch or if sleep mode was improved to save battery...but its not a big deal. Just feels weird right now

I upgraded a couple of days ago.. So far so good. I do seem to be gettnig better reception on my Bluetooth headset. I'm not noticing if my battery drains any faster or not.. I'll update later if I see anything odd...

I finally got the install to go through, however during the re-install of my old applications, i received a fatal error and all my applications did not load. I lost my theme, phone book, some of my external applications. I do however see the option to compose MMS text, receive emails again, but I have yet to recover all my apps. I had to try the install several times too.

Finally reinstalled my apps, address book, theme. I did have to reinstall google maps and reset a few of my options, but everything seems to be ok again.
