Hi there, I am trying to get the Zen theme and downloaded it, but cannot figure out how to get it on my 8700R. I looked at the instructions posted on the forum but my file tree is different.

The path he lists is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.284_P2.0.0.120

and my path goes C://Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\ and then folders for AppLoader, RIMDeviceManager, Modem Drivers and USB Drivers. Any ideas? It would seem that Themes should be a relatively easy thing to download and put on the device. ( I am a BB newbie, though I did figure out how to download and install IM+)

My brother has a BB7100i (as do I) and he was browsing this forum and saw the themes, not being smart, he just downloaded and installed the themes (he has v4.1.0.136)

so now his themes look like crap - black and white and not very pretty..

I have no clue how to help him, so i thought id post a message here to see if anyone can give him a fix for this...

Is there any link to get these themes to work with OS 4.1?

I downloaded these themes neglecting to look at the area that says they only work with OS 4.0

Now the themes are all out of wack

OK how do you remove a theme?

I know that this thread is for OS 4.0. Just wondering if anyone has any success in installing 71XX themes on a 72XX running on OS 4.1?

I remove them thru the desktop manager...someone else might have an easier or quicker way...

try this

navigate to settings or options depending on your theme and phone

then go to advanced options (on some themes this step is not nessassary because options opens the whole settings list)

next open Applications scroll down til you see the item you wish to delete


BE VERY VERY CAREFUL TO HIGHLIGHT THE SPECIFIC ITEM YOU WISH TO DELETE

push the scroll wheel in and select delete

scroll and highlight ok

that's it, good-bye program or theme

I'm posting this here to attempt to centralize information:

Basically, in this forum was a link to a website that had the "Lightwaves" theme (third party, plazmic theme reader compatible (thus OS 4.1 ONLY)) for 7290's..

Anyone have that link? I've been searching for a good hour to no avail. I have a copy on my local computer, but i'd like to try to get updates..

had very little work to do today so decided to download some of the themes in here onto my 7100.
The first ones I put on there were lovely and worked fine... The next ones I put on there have totally screwed my BB over. It loads up in black and white, except all the screens pile ontop of each other so you can't see anything.

My boss just told me I could activate myself onto a nice new shiny one instead Haha. So in a way, thank you! :D
