Is there a work around to these type offers?
Can I try to load it on my IPAD and then get the apk file somehow?

No, there are no workarounds. Piracy is bad, and only those desperate enough will go through all the hassles to get the files.
I'm not sure what an IPAD is, but the only way you can extract an APK file is from a rooted Android device.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
You can ask the dev to maybe port over a version of their app (provided it actually works)
Jefit Pro is $5 from Google Play, so no sideloading.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
I contacted BB tech support and they said they do not have any current method to port it. I even said I would pay straight to BB for the apk paid version to I could convert it to bar.
This should not be so hard to do.
My son has an android device but how could I get his apk onto my laptop to I could convert it to bar?

Start by contacting the developer of the app. Ask permission and inquire about the possibility of doing the port.

I'm missing a task manager that integrates with the calendar. I want to see taks/to-dos on my calendar.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
I was able to download myfitnesspal by sideload "DDPB" and you have to install that program first then www.goodereader.com/bb10 and andriod. Find it there then download. It is not bad to do this. Sometimes some apps are not working but it is ok to use it. It is better than nothing! I only miss one thing is ip-relay service on torch, bold etc, but not on BB10. Aol aim messenger is not there either but ip relay use in aol that helps too. I still hope that blackberry developer will consider to add video phone service for deaf need. iphone and galaxy 3s/4s have video phone called "P3", Z5, and Ntouch apps. Google play has p3. I cant download or install from google play.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
I bought BB10 last July and yesterday I decided to switch it to Gs4 and played with it. I started to miss my BB10Q. Physical keyboard and small to hold in hands easily. I started to screammmmmmm. This morning I zoomed back to ATT and switched back to my long time love Blackberry. I feel so perfect to be with it. G 4s is beautiful and plenty apps plus video phone (VP)for deaf, perfect but not for me. I will accept BB without VP

There is no push email in BB Z10 no push Gmail no yahoo etc. all this creates massive problems while using other blackberry applications also. Many other blackberry applications mentioned in its features are also not faithful

Push is supported where it exists. You have the option of enabling it when setting up your mail account, from the Advanced option.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
I find it ironic that the most popular thread in this forum was started by a spammer.
On topic, I have downloaded quite a few Android apps over the past 12 months, but I honestly don't have a use for most of them, and they get deleted. I do have Chase, Google Earth, and GEICO, Android apps that I use fairly often. I guess I don't "desperately" miss any app, but they sure would be nice to have. I much prefer to support native developers when I have the choice.

No, it isn't. It's been rebranded as Bedside Mode. There is no more auto ON/OFF.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
The app I am really missing, & I can't remember the name of it from my Bold 9900, was an app that remembered my most frequent wifi connections & shut them off & on as I went in & out of the zone of those connections.
