Hi

My gf has a bb 8520 she is locked out of her phone because the keys have stopped working. Tried a battery
pull. Can anyone help?

The first thing you should do is run a full backup of all your data. After that, try pulling the battery again for 30 seconds. If the keyboard still does not work, I would reload the OS.

More experienced users might have better advice for you.

Just noticed this- the keys will bring the screen light on so they're not totally dead. It seems to be frozen with the padlock icon in the bottom right corner.

No, she downloaded an app, "zello" I think, rebooted her phone and its been stuck on the same screen since.

Hi

Try to start your device in Safe mode.If you succeed then uninstall that app.

Was wondering that also. when the OP said "locked out" my assumption was password. He never said it had something different on the display.

But I was very impressed with the google link NJ posted. Now if we can get one that clicks on the post for us we got it made.
