I have recently decided to give Blackberry Podcasts a try, I was using Podtrapper.

I have one podcast subscription that requires a user ID and password as it is a paid subscription.

Can anyone tell me how I can enter this information into the BlackBerry Podcasts app? The option doesn't seem readily available...

I don't use any podcasts that require login so I haven't confronted this yet. I looked and I don't see a way to enter login information when adding a podcast URL. I'm curious, have you gone ahead and subscribed to the podcast, and what happens when you do?

It does let me subscribe and lets me see which episodes are available, I just can't download any of them.

So what happens is that when the app tries to download the podcast it gets blocked and the episode shows as "failed."

Ok. I was supposing that after you subscribed you would then be prompted to enter login information. Apparently not. Hard to believe there isn't a way to it. But I don't see it. Wish I had the answer.

.... I wonder if there is a way to include username and password in the feed URL. Searching right now.

Edit: See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834489. This is not supported in Internet Explorer nowadays, but who knows, maybe it will work with the podcast feed. Worth a try.

Hopefully this feature will be added in the future.

Looking at reviews while searching I saw this complaint. So I'm confident we aren't just missing it.

I just wanted to give it a try, see if I liked it. I can always go back to Podtrapper if I want.

I got a hold of the BlackBerry Podcast manual and there is no info on this issue so I guess it definitely does not have that functionality.

Oh well.

I admit I'm surprised it isn't there. The podcasts app does the one simple task of grabbing podcasts very well, almost. I agree this is a feature that should be there.
