Default Personal Outlook to Blackberry OTA Sync

Please Login to Remove!

I use a blackberry connected to my companies enterprise server and love it. However, I'm wondering about how the blackberry works when you don't have a corporate enterprise account. In particular, my wife uses outlook on her desktop to store her contacts, calendar, tasks, etc... and to pop email.

I'd love to get her calendar and contacts synchronized with her blackberry, over the air, in the background, like I have with my enterprise account. Is there a cost effective solution for this?

MailStreet looks like it might be the right thing - but unless I'm mistaken I would need to pay $23/month for both exchange and blackberry service (seems a little steep) on top of my data plan. Does the carrier (AT&T), or RIM, provide a hosted exchange type server that she can sync her blackberry and desktop to? What about 3rd parties?

Or is their a simpler solution that I'm missing?

Thanks,

- Gus

These guys (BBerysync) are working on a solution right now, and are running a beta (see the Aftermarket SW forum here).

There's another company that has an OTA sync option for BIS users, but I can't remember their name right now...

Sounds interesting. Has anybody used this successfully? Any feedback on how it works? I don't see any user feedback on the site.

Thanks Danabw!

Looks promising. In fact, almost too good to believe. We'll be getting the new blackberry in a couple weeks so, between now and then I'll be curious to know if anybody has the chance to try this.

As I noted above, this is being discussed in the Aftermarket Software forum. Look there for more info.

Oh...maybe my error. I saw they had pricing posted, and the purchase flow seemed to be working, so I thought they were up and running. But there are still "Beta" stamps on the site as well...confusing.
