Question BES reinstall question

Please Login to Remove!

Am having BES 5.0 issues with the web admin (service crashes etc etc) cannot get it running at all or ever login to the admin page.

I might completely re-install but what I want to avoid is having to re activate all my handsets (30) my database is on another server in full SQL 2005, what keeps the sync record between handset and server is it in the database so I would be safe doing a removal/reboot/reinstall then pointing back to the database which I'll leave as is (as that side is fine its just Apache that seems to be having an issue) will it carry on talking to the handsets without having to re-activate them?

to my understanding of BES this should work and its only a creation of a new database which will mean the handsets need to be re-activated?

That is correct.

Uninstall and remove all dependencies (such as Java) and reboot.

Then reinstall.

thanks HDawg, interesting you mentinoed java, I wondered if it was something to do with Java it was having problems with on the apache end, the server was new build and had the latest JRE installed but this flapping BAS AS service is a big problem as we cant admin the BES at all since last week now.

well tried a complete reinstall, took BES and all required apps off including all java bits and also the SQL client etc, reinstall worked fine all went ok and berrys are working but the web admin is still dead, still seeing CPU maxxing out and RAM going up and up then if I try and browse to the admin URL it makes the BAS AS service fall over and auto restart (never even see the page)
