As the title says, I just upgraded from a pearl 8100 yesterday to the bold 2 and just as I expected, I'm completely enjoying it. After using it, I don't see how I've lived without wifi for so long...Anyways, I see that there are OS updates out so I was wondering what exactly has been improved? The original one seems pretty okay for the moment except for a few apps provided by t-mobile not working 100% correctly (no huge deal) so I'd like to know before "upgrading" and lowering my battery life, messing with the camera or etc...I've updated my os on the pearl many a time but I'm somewhat doubtful that the changes could be so drastic as to further blow my mind with the 9700 in comparison to 4.5 vs. 4.2 on the pearl.

My advice is that if the device works for you and you like how it does it, it isn't broken and does not require fixing. Why risk making it a paperweight or having a problem that drives you batty?

Question - What OS is on your phone? If you just got your 9700 from TMo it should be (v5.0.0.330). The Desktop software may newer than what is on the provided CD, however, the handheld software should be Handheld Software (v5.0.0.330).

It is which is why I decided to stick with it until there's some kind of noticeable improvement..And to the guy below you, my OS is the same as what you have in your profile.

I've got better battery life, and a few other little tweaks that I like. Plus it seems to run a little snappier...

Upgrading the OS isn't what I'd call risky, I wouldn't worry about turning it into a paperweight...

Continue using the OS that came on the phone. Like it was mentioned before if its not broke, don't fix it.
