well I own a blackberry 8130 pearl and I had that BBM smiley icon on my homepage when i didnt have a message and got very annoyed from it. So i decided to connect my phone to my computer and I deleted blackberry messenger and was going to reinstall it. But, now you can only download the black berry messenger thru your emails and my phone isnt able to check emails... Please help!!!! I will give you info abnormal my phone just please help me i need my bbm back!!! my phone version is a v4.5.0.169

On your BlackBerry go to http://mobile.blackberry.com... scroll to Communicate... and click the BB Messenger link.

You can download BB appworld (if its availible on your model) and download it from there, you may have to reboot your BB after for it to install though....

But you don't have a FULL BlackBerry Data Plan, is that correct?

If so, you are going to need to install BlackBerry Messenger using BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You will need to install the Device OS to your computer in addition to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software.

Well, Telus has what they call their "Social" plan. I'm guessing that's what the OP has.

It includes Unlimited Facebook®, MySpace®, BlackBerry® Messenger and Windows LiveTM Messenger. But no email and no web browsing.

Thus the OP cannot install apps OTA and cannot use BlackBerry App World.

If he can't get to the BB site to install the BBM client, his only other option is to download the OS and reinstall the missing parts via the DM and/or Loader.exe process.

i have the desktop manager, but can someone please show me the Device OS for the Pearl 8130 cause i cannot seem to find it... and yes I have the data plan for telus which is Facebook, bbm, msn etc. it just got deleted off my phone when i was fooling around with it on desktop manager.
