How would you rate your 7100?
Please Login to Remove!
I noticed on amazon the 7100t gets a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars with some loving it and some hating it. How would you rate your device with a 5 being best? I would rate mine a 4 1/2. Overall, I love it.

i rate mine at about mid 2 1/2 not to found of teh suretype i still think it is buggy and is actually causing the reset problem turn it off and no reset ever turn it on could be a day or just 5 mins and boom reset... reset.... reset... tried all the os on this phone 3.8 is most stable but i have apps that will not work with out 4.0... 7280,7290,7230 where much better 7290 best of all the bunch. 7100 has better screen lackin in out doors use though mayjor hit for on the go buisness professionals. ahven't got bluetooth so can't review it here. better speaker phone quality then i have seen on most phones with speaker phone very loud ringtone option. seeing as i am half deaf on my left side good option. enhancedringtones are nice but does not make up for countless flaws.

I'd rate it at 4 out of 5. It does what I want, and only has a few quirks.

2/5...descent phone....suretype is annoying, the reset problem was charming, the lack of being able to read it in the daylight sucks, background noise is a huge problem, screen is ridiculously easy to scratch, and general headset/bt volume is really bad in 4.x....

3.5 out of 5. It would be 4.5 if they would fix the bluetooth volume problem.

Keep hearing about the BT problem. What is it, exactly?

The 7100t shipped with OS version 3.8. My Motorola HS-810 headset worked great, hardly ever turned it up above 3/4 volume and was usable in most environments. After upgrading to 4.0x my HS-810 is not loud enought to be used in anything but a closed car or office. Even cranked up all the way I can barely hear it outside on a typical street. Almost everyone has experianced this problem. For the longest time, RIM said they "couldn't reproduce the problem" and then last month announced that there was no problem now, but that it had been TOO loud on version 3.8 and they fixed it by making it almost useless unless you can hide away somewhere quite.

I'd say 4 of 5... Has a few quirks, but I can usually get done what I need. Great to have the office with you where ever you go! Small nice is key over some of the other units, too.

I love suretype. I just type without looking and it seems to be ok. Only proper names and email addresses. Otherwise it's great.

4/5
RF is ok, but not great.
Suretype works well for me.
Screen invisible in daylight, the only real pain.
Reading nytimes.com in Hong Kong with my Cingular unlimited data plan amazes me everytime I do it. Not a 7100 only thing, but this is my first BB.

I like mine and would give it a 4/5.
I actually like sure type, mine has only reset once in 3 months.
Seems great to me.

4.5/5 I love my 7100t. You'd have to pry it out of my dead stiff hands. I think the suretype works great. I like that it looks more like a phone than a computer and that it's so compact, but does all the full size blackberry does. That makes the very few quirks that suretype has, well worth it. I seldom ever have to reset. My biggest gripe was the battery didn't last long enough. Extended battery fixed that! All in all, I'd give mine 4.5/5

I would have to say about a 3.5. The bluetooth volume is kinda annoying and the fact that I have to find shade to read the screen is pretty bothersome. Other than that it does everything else I think that it should.

1 out of 5 for anything that has to do w/ the phone portion--picks up ONLY background noise, low volume, speaker phone not full duplex, skipping numbers when you press the buttons too fast. Cell phones have been around for 15 years, they should have known how to make one.

i wanted to love my 7100T, but could never get used to suretype. I can't rate it higher than a 2 because of it. I had a 7230, but really wanted the bluetooth, speaker phone and better screen. When I got my 7100, all I could think of is how superior the qwerty keyboard was. I just ordered the 7290, which will at least have BT. As for the speaker phone - it was nice to listen to, but I got a lot of complaints when I talked on it. Checking voicemails was about the only thing I used the speaker for....
I can't wait for my 7290 to get here because I am so tired writing things like "did you are that note?" when I meant to write "did you see that note?"

3 out of 5.
The features are all I need, but it lacks eveything I want. Then again, I don't want to pay 500 bucks for a Palm or PPC.
