Five months ago, we reported on the xxx8216;Reset to Factory Defaultsxxx8217; option that would be available with OS 4.2.2 and BES 4.1 SP4. Well, now this functionality is available to non-BES users running OS 4.3.0 and above. The latest release of the BlackBerry Java Development Environment (JDE) and/or BlackBerry JDE Components Package includes a new version of JavaLoader that incorporates this functionality in the form of the xxx8216;resettofactoryxxx8217; switch. A manual battery pull will envoke a required security wipe of the device to complete the process.

Thanks to the wonderful moderation team at BlackBerry Forums for discovering this new feature. I just had time to test on my device running OS 4.3.1 this morning, and I must say that this is a nice alternative to the xxx8216;policy.binxxx8217; procedure. With that said, it is worth stressing once again that this feature requires at least OS 4.3.0.
Look we're being mentioned on BoyGeniusReport!

How many Jibi's do you think there are in the BlackBerry world? LOL!

Talk to BG. If you have a lot of time and don't do anything but stay on the computer all day (aka no life), then you'd be a good candidate. HAH!

...and I think Jibi can only handle ONE world (although to be fair, I often find myself in out-of-this-world situations, too) LOL!

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums.

The best place to start with new questions is the FAQ section - Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ

There is even a specific FAQ for this one - Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck!

OK so i want to give an overwhelming THANK YOU to John Clark for the blank IT policy, saved my 350 from ebay..... especially got a kick out of the lock screen that says "this bb has a blank IT policy on it, written by JOHN CLARK from www.blackberryforums.com"

Unreal Great help, took me all day to figure out what the problem with it was though. Took 2 seconds to fix it once I found it....

LOL! You're the first to notice my little disclaimer. I did that a few months ago.

Once OS 4.5 comes out we will be able to do away with that "blank IT policy" procedure as there will be a way to wipe the policy completely.
