Default Can Not See Messages Sent to Inbox SubFolders by Outlook Rules - BES 5 Express

Please Login to Remove!

Environment:
Single Server BES 5 Express
Single Server Exchange 2007 SP2 (with all Hot Fixes but not SP3 because SP3 does nothing useful for this company)
BBerry Bold 9700
On Telus Network
Outlook 2007 SP2 with all current patches
Mail goes to OST files locally, not PST files

Question - Problem:

When emails are sorted on arrival into folders by Outlook 2007 rules, they do not appear on a BBerry. If, using Outlook, the emails are moved manually into subfolders, the messages do appear on the BBerry.

I found the following post from 2006 under BES 4 which describes exactly this issue but surely this has been resolved now in 2011 under BES 5.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-...ook-rules.html

If this can not be overcome, is there a way to have the BBerry show ALL new messages in it's Inbox. The user in question would actually prefer to have the BBerry ignore the Outlook sorting and folders and just dump all new messages into her BBerry inbox but still have Outlook sort them via rules.

To be clear, let me state state the BBerry sees the subfolders, just not any new, Outlook rule moved, emails.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Ok... I just figured out the first part. Log into the user webdesktop and set folder redirection. I will create a blog on my site (so I remember it)

However, I still have not figured out how to have ALL new mail arrive at the BBerry unsorted by Outlook rules. The user would like all messages to go to the BBerry inbox regardless of what Outlook does. Is this possible?

If it is an excahnge server side rule, BES will never see it. If it is truly an Outlook rules then the messages will get to the deviec until reconcile kicks in. Turn off reconcile on the device it self so they stay there, but replies might not work since it doesnt exist there anymore.

BES will see it as long as you are redirecting the folder it delivers to. However, if it is a server side forward, there is no way to get the message to the BB Inbox Folder, it will always be in a subfolder of messages. Not that it matters, as the BB will show filed messages when unread (whether you have hide filed messages enabled or not)

If the user still want to see the server-forwarded messages after reading them, ensure that "hide filed messages" is set to false on BB.

Et voila, every folder redirected to BB = every message shows up on BB messages folder.
