Default switching back and forth between qwerty BB and 8100?

Please Login to Remove!

i have an unlocked 8700 and an 8100 with tmo

would i be able to just switch back and forth by subbing the sim card like i can do with a regular cellphone

or do i have to always log on and change the handheld info (PIN, IMEI)?

I am not sure how unlocked phones work but when I got my 8100 I simply took the T-mo SIM out of my 7100t placed it in the Pearl and the phone fired up. Did not have to call T-Mo at all.

Oh, and the phone came from T-Mo WITHOUT a SIM, so I have to assume the T-Mo assumes people know to take out their existing T-Mo SIM and to place it into the other phone.

I also took the SIM out of the Pearl and put back into the 7100t and it fired right up.

So I guess the answer to your question might be "Yes" if when you activated the new phone you did not have to call T-Mo or do something special.

The phone part will work perfectly just by switching the SIM. For email you have to do a little work. After switching the SIM, go to the Setup Internet Email icon. When prompted to switch the PIN select Yes. If your connected to BES you will reactivate or use Desktop Manager to switch devices.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I use bis. So each timE I switch BBs I just go to that option? Will it force me to set up all email accts again? Or does that step just pull future messgs to the BB with the sim card currently in it? Thanks a lot

Once you go to the icon and confirm that you want to switch PINs, it will transfer your email to the new device. You should get activation emails for each account each time you do this.
