Oh and by the way, if you don't have a subscription, does it use up your regular airtime on your plan? ie. no "weird" charges right?

If you're downloading a lot eg torrents, you may have issues. I was having calls with lots of static and the person on the other end complained that the call seemed to cut out a lot.

Been using UMA since day 1 on Rogers. Never had a problem with calls dropping.

I have an Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station.

I've had issues with calls dropping when battery is getting low, which is understandable.
More annyoing though is the intermittent issue I've had with calls failing and incoming calls going straight to voicemail. Seems like the connection to Rogers breaks but it thinks it's still active. The odd part is I get email, text, and even the voicemail notifications just fine over UMA when the calls won't work. Usually have to turn off WiFi for a few minutes then reconnect.
Still on the whole, I've had good experiences with it.

I've flashed to the latest 8900 os and have found that my original issue happens a lot less. It still happens however...
