Create own themes?
Please Login to Remove!
I was interested in creating my own themes for my BB Curve 8310 and I'm wondering what (free/cheap) program I can use?
I did a search and only posts from YEARS ago came up.
Thanks everyone.

This is the RIM software for doing it, and it is free.

As far as I know, there is no current software available that will allow you to create a theme on a Mac.
And you are welcome

Is the program difficult to use? Or does it require any knowledge of coding etc?

You need a couple of items to create a theme. Plazmic CDK, BlackBerry JDE, and BlackBerry SSP. The thing is the version of the CDK and the JDE sould be the same or you could end up with unexpected results.
Now, as far as the MAC issue, you could try VMware or BootCamp if you have a copy of XP or Vista lying around.

This is actually NOT true. CDK 4.5 has everything you need built in.

My apologies. This was not that case in Plazmic CDK 4.2.1. Since I have not used Plazmic CDK version 4.5 yet, of this I cannot attest to.

Hello everyone, new here. Just got my first Blackberry. It is a Blackberry Pearl 8110, from AT&T, so far I am having fun with it. I have seen all the cool themes posted, and downloaded Plazmic. I am unfamiliar with this software, and was wondering where everyone gets their graphics, icons and blinkies from? Is it including in the software, or do you need to create them on your own? I think I could convert some pics to be wallpaper, but have no idea how to create icons? I have Plazmic version 4.2, and OS 4.2 on my Blackberry, any advice would be great. Thanks for any help you could give.

My suggestion is to download the 4.5 cause that is WAY better than 4.2....as far as the icons and stuff go, there are places online in "other" message boards that has posted icon sets that people have made. Best thing to do though is resize your own icons that you find. You can use .png files and resize them easy with a image editor called GIMP. It's free and fairly easy to use. All the other stuff you just have to look around and resize things. You won't find too many things out there already made for the BB

But I thought I had to use version 4.2, if that is the os I am running, but I am new at this, so I could be wrong.

Nope...you just have to make sure when you export the theme it's for OS 4.2 and not 4.5

Thank you, I wish I would have known that I hear the 4.5 version has all the required software with it, it took me forever to get 4.2 installed, I kept having to install other required software. Thanks for the quick replies.

My suggestion is to uninstall Plazmic 4.2.1 and install 4.5 after the reboot.
