Default Upgrade to the newest OS with Bold & a Mac?

Please Login to Remove!

I bought the missing sync to sync my Bold with my Mac. How can I upgrade my bold to the latest OS for my device. It was easy on a PC, but Rim does not look like they do very well with mac. Can anyone help?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

You won't be able to do this on a Mac without installing some virtualization software so you can run a Windows operating system to perform the update.

You need to use a Windows machine to do the OS upgrade. Either find a friend who will let you use their PC or get something like Parallels or VMWare to boot Windows on your MAC.

VMWare works. Parallels is far less reliable.

I actually keep an old ThinkPad lying around just for phone stuff. If you have an Intel-based Mac, you do have options:

xxx8730; VMware + Windows
xxx8730; Boot Camp + Windows
X Parallels - never/rarely works

i run bootcamp on my MBP and i do all installs that way... bootcamp is free on the mac so, no issues there... you'll have to acquire a windows install cd though...
