Default Invisible Shield for Bold ( again )

Please Login to Remove!

Gents... Just got the item today. Its not on the Bold yet. Just want to know if I dont like it, how hard is it to take it off?

I saw one on another Bold and it seems that its not "truly" clear or invisible? little bit of "waves" over the screen since the shield is a "soft" plastic not the "hard" type. My wife's iPhone has a protective screen over and the screen is those "hard" plastic type so it was clear clear!!

Gonna wait for your comments before I put it on!!

Thanks guys!!

Had a best skins ever screen protector (same as Invisible Shield) on for about 2 weeks now and want to rip it off and put on a basic film screen protector.

It has that orange peel look you mention from just about every other angle except for head on and even that depends on the light. Don't get me wrong it's tough as nails but I'd rather compromise the strength for something absolutely clear from any angle.

If you keep it in the blackberry soft pouch (with the belt clip) when you are not using it, maybe that is enough protection IMO. If you put the phone in your pocket (or for ladies purse) a protective film is def worth it.

I got the generic screen protectors (the 3 layer ones taht you peel off 2 of the layers and put it on? I love those) from ebay, 5 x 5 bucks. THen I got the invisible shield to cover the BODY. Which I really like to keep my phone in pristine condition. So the screen is covered and the body is scratch proof in my pocket.

I got the best skins ever and it has a wave look to it, like water. I hate it, I took it off. So if BSE is like Invisible Shield, you might have the same problem.

Default BSE better than Screenguardz

I wish I'd read this thread before I bought and applied the BSE screen protector (the screen protector threads are all over the place on numerous forums here) but it is at least an improvement over the Screenguardz anti-glare protector I was using previously. The Screenguardz wouldn't stay put, bubbled up ridiculously and was almost opaque under certain light. The BestSkinsEver guard, which was applied with a mixture of liquid soap detergent and water, went on easier and seems to have shaped up well so far. But I'll wait and see if it turns into a wavy orange peel or whatever. I can see the texture, even with the unit unplugged, but after the murky Screenguardz it looks like an upgrade to my eyes.

I also have the full skin, which I had used on my Blackberry 8800. It worked to keep the unit protected, but it was awful to look at and touch, and it seemed to make the thing run hot.

I have a PhantomSkinz on mine and I have to say, the orange peel effect is pretty minimal. Aren't all of these skins pretty much made of the same stuff?

for the last 4 years, i've been using screen patronus for all my blackberrys...

they are 100% clear, you only see the edges of them... a little pricey but, they are washable/reusable...

I'm a big fan of Screen Patronus as well. No need for liquids to apply them.

I use a screen protector from Screen Patronus and really like it. It resists fingerprints and smudges and is perfectly clear with no distortion. I have a silicone cover for the back and sides from BB OEM. I really like this combo, as I used to use a leather pouch, and this is much more convenient.

I have just applied invis sheild to my bold but only did screen and back. Screen IS slightly rippled but ok for me, but don't like plastic feel of back, need something with rubber type feel which will also make back more solid and protected. Was thinking of seidio inno case , anyone out there with one of these? . Are they worth considering?

I've used Zagg invisible shield initially and I removed it,

Now,I have "Scratch Gard" for Rs.400 ($8) for screen display and "Amzer" rubberized snap-on cover(Rs.250 or $5) for better grip to hold and to protect edges.

Now,I'm happy with Bold than ever!

I recommend "Brando" Crystal clear screen protectors. Have it on my Bold and have also bought Brando for cameras, as well as other phones and PDA's. $10US + $3.00 shipping - for a piece of plastic - but they work remarkably well. Google Brando screen protectors. They ship out of Hong Kong, and have been around for a while.
