Apparently, AT&T is still worried about the battery life and 3G. It seems like other carriers have released the Bold with an updated OS and many, if not all, of these problems have been corrected. At least to an acceptable level in the carriers' eyes, or so it appears. The Bold will be as stable on AT&T's network as on anyone else's. I believe AT&T just wants to put their own stink on it. They always put some branded apps/bloatware onto a device. In addition, before starting to tweak the OS themselves, they waited to see what issues the other carriers turned up. It gave them some focal points without having to deal with a grumbling user base, returns, cs calls, etc.

Once you try a Bold there is no going back!
I upgraded from a 7290.

Its a huge difference!

I suggest you upgrade the OS right away to cure any remaining bugs. It does not cure them all, just a good portion of them.

I am with you. AT&T will get it right and it should be a clean launch.

It is just a phone. A 3G phone. Blackberry has a very stable OS on this thing and I have not had any glitches what so ever. AT&T has alot of 3G phones on their system already so there is little reason a Rogers Bold would not run perfectly on the AT&T network.

Jacksonville is blessed with an excellent network as I have not seen 3G blink one time. In fact I have to say I have MORE bars mostly full bars on the Bold compared to my Curve. Even in my sunroom facing away from the closet tower to my house, my curve would do 3 bars at best and the Bold is holding 4-Full bars with full 3G service. My NexRad moving local radar map comes up on the Bold very quickly so the 3G makes a big difference to me.

I was a little scared that I would have to restrict my Bold to 2G from what others had said but 3G works well and call/voice clarity is far improved!

Me too, even though I am not big on using the Internet on a handheld device, the Bold is fast enough to make it quite interesting!

Congratulations Greg, I am glad you got it. The delivery of mine has been a comedy of errors, however it is finally in LA and I hope to have my hands on it some time today.

You are going to enjoy this 3 day holiday!

Forget the battery problems, mine has none and I am using and playing with it constantly.

Enjoy!

Well if it is it is not much as my pulling the battery does not result in an increase in memory indicated.

Right now I have

Application Memory: 42.9

Device memory:
Total space: 859.2
Free Space: 858.6

I deleted all my games.

Not problems, hang ups or glitches.

I would think that the Blackberry, using some both OEM and 3rd party software will leak some memory, this likely can not be avoided. The Bold has enough memory where it should not be a problem

man, i'm jealous... i thought RIM wasn't going to allow any Bold's register onto the US network until it was officially released, did they reverse their decision, or did you guys find a work around?

Yeah.. That was my fault for opening that thread here. Heard it elsewhere from a credible member of the community and thought I would share. The PIN is definitely NOT locked. Everything works just fine.

I dumped what I did not need. Go into the app folder and it now allows you to delete at will. My game folder is EMPTY! <vbg>

This was just another wild rumor proved false.

There were some seed and test units that were turned off my RIM, it turns out that some people actually sold them. Any Bold sold as a retail unit, no matter what country it came from has not and will not be turned off by RIM.

I'm working like a champ on ATT with my unlocked Rogers Bold. Best "all around" device I have ever used, barr none. Had numerous BB's and WM phones and Symbian and both iPhones. This thing blows them away. Helps me stay connected and run my businesses on the go. I have found no major bugs that slow me down (running 125) either....BOLD baby!
