Default 8900 Battery Problem - Possible Cause?

Please Login to Remove!

So I got my new 8900 last week and been loving it. On the 1st night with GPS ON I saw the battery go from 75% to 20% within 3 hours. On the 2nd night with GPS turned OFF I saw the battery go from 80% to 75% in 8 hours.

It seems like GPS is a real battery hog? Anyone have the same experience?

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

If the GPS is fighting for a signal, then the answer is yes

I think you answered your own question lol. When the 8900 was released there were a lot of people whose battery went down fast, then improved once they figured out what was doing it. Some swore it was the OS but it was really the GPS and other stuff searching all the time. The OEM case also turned stuff on because it was too tight.
