Default What about AIM??

I have used ALL the third party chat applications, and ALL of them result in the same result on my 7520, missed phone calls. Because they transfer data so much, my BB sends my calls right to VM.

The Yahoo chat from RIM, only does this occasionally when I am in the program, although as soon as I exit, my phone calls come right through.

So anyone heard of RIM making an AIM application like the Yahoo one?

Thanks!

Is there any news as to when or if MSN will be making a blackberry/mobile version of their software as Yahoo did?

P.S. I downloaded QuickIM's trial version onto my BB. It's pretty laggy. Does anyone have any oppinions on the application? Should I buy it?

I Would just look into GoogleTalk with adding the MSN transport into it. Works pretty good for me. Use The Search

Check this thread out:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=28638

I use Google Talk and have it hooked to my MSN and AIM accounts.. Works pretty darn well for a free application!

BTW, for my transports I use:

AIM - aim.netlab.cz
MSN - jabber.anywise.com (msn.jabber.anywise.com)

Those have been the most reliable transports for me.

Default Can't install emsn

I tried installing the files downloaded from this thread into my 8700v and the error message i get is that the digital signature on the file is invalid. Is there a "new" version of MSN Messenger? Or one compatible with my model?

I am actually floored by the number of apps that charge in this space compared to others. I wish more people used google talk. It is free and works like a champ!

I am using MSN Messenger on my 8700 with great success. One thing I haven't been able to overcome is the inability to trigger some alert when I receive an MSN-based IM. I can't seem to find anything software wise or a rule that would send some alert for me to check IM. The only means I know is to keep the MSN Messenger screen up all the time and that's impractical.

Has anyone else overcome this challenge?

Default MSN Messenger Software

I purchased Quick IM and tried it for a while on my Verizon 7250. I didn't like it. Then I got Berry Vine. It is very solid and has good customer support. It cost half the price of Quick IM. There are a couple of settings I had to switch on the initial setup but the tech support people talked me through it. I think it cost $15. You might want to use this until the official Blackberry version comes out for MSN.

BabaBerry,

The Google talk app. will let you hook to any IM system you can find a transport for. Google talk is run off the jabber infrastructure but can connect to other IM protocols (AIM & ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, etc) through "transports" that are hosted at sites. Typically you use an IM program like Miranda to setup the transports, then when you log into Google talk from your blackberry, it's already got the connections in place and they're established whenever you connect to your google talk account.

I am also surprised that people still pay for other IM programs when Google talk works so well...
