Default 9810 Battery Life.

Please Login to Remove!

Good Day to everyone.

I am planning to change my BB Bold 9780 to a Torch 9810 but something is holding me back which is the battery life of the Torch 9810. A lot comments/reviews about it says it has very short battery life.

I use my BB Bold 9780 for only texting and some calls, i don't use BBM and it's seldom for me to use FB and twitter app via WIFI. And my network mode is only on 2G, and it lasts 4-5 days for me. I just want to ask if i do the same stuff in my BB Bold 9780 to the BB Torch 9810 how many hours/days will it last?

Battery Life is extremely dependent on usage, network availability, coverage area and running applications.

However this BTSC KB Article should help with maximizing battery life:
KB14320-How to maximize battery life and free memory on the BlackBerry smartphone

As i said, i'm only using it for sending sms, few calls and seldom twitter/FB via WIFI. And my connection is always in 2G. How long do you think the battery life of the Torch 9810 will last with this kind of usage.

Reply will be much appreciated.
Thank You. More Power to BB

One of the bigest battery drains I have noticed is the HSPA radio establishing connection with towers that are a long distance away. If you turn HSPA off, or if you are in an area with good HSPA coverage you will get better battery life, maybe several days. The 9810 is a more powerful device so it does use more power than the simpler 97xx devices.

The BB i'm using right now is Bold 9780. I mostly use it for sending SMS, few calls (Not more than 30mins every charge), No BBM, and seldom use of Twitter and FB via wifi. Network Mode is always on 2G, Battery Life is 3-4 Days. I just want to ask if those things are done with a Torch 9810, how long will the battery life will be?

i have used the 9810 for work for about 6 months and i have just gone back to my 9780, the large screen drains the battery regardless of usage so if length of use is an issue i would stick to your 9780 and get days between charges rather than hours.

Personally I get 2 days solidly out of my 9810 with moderate text use occasional call with 3g/4g data turned on (t-mobile 9810) i do have pretty strong coverage so that might help. I do check Facebook and email a lot from the device. and from time to time turn on wifi for a few minutes. though i do charge my battery mostly with an external charger and have 2 battery packs.
