No need to prove it....I use Verzion (95% of the time) myself so I can echo your comments. For me they are far superior than Cingular in the areas I live/travel.

The only downside to using a Blackberry with them is the the no data roaming and as NJBlackberry pointed out no international coverage. I travel to the Caymans twice a year, and I use a Cingular Blackberry down there.

For Verizon???

I'm looking for this type of BB on their network. I can agree with your comments about typing on the condensed keyboard but I do like the phone form factor of the 7100s.

No, not for Verizon....it will be a CDMA device for Sprint. It will have EV-DO capabilities and will be available middle to end of 1st quarter.

I just switched from Cingular to Verizon yesterday. When I was talking with the Verizon rep about the Blackberry, (7250 I believe) I asked him about EV-DO support. Quoting what I've read on these boards, I said that I believed the 7250 was EV-DO capable, but that Verizon hadn't yet released an update that enabled. Obviously I asked when that would occur.

He said that it wasn't going to occur because they were expecting a new device that would offer EV-DO support out of the box. He didn't say what the device was, but he said they were expecting it soon.

Obviously not the most reliable source.... so take it for what it's worth.

Yes, Virginia, there IS a CDMA 7100, and it has EVDO:

The question is how long will Sprint or Verizon take to get it? And will modem tethering still be part of it?
