Hey guyz, I own a BB bold 9700 and I am using desktop software on my mac. I previously updated two phones of the same model to OS6 by simply plugging in the phone and the desktop software automatically told me that an update is available. However, I am trying to update my mom's phone, when I connect it i don't get any message from the desktop manager, and even when I click check for updates it tells me that there are no updates available. I want to update it to OS6. any ideas?

Does this 9700 have an active BlackBerry Data Plan on the account?

I too have heard that without a data plan, you can't update the OS...
