My Biz Rep also has confirmed Nov. 8th release, but could not confirm pre-order option. The pre-order options was not on his computer so at minimum we have one more week of waiting...

With Sprint announcing a 11/23 release I would have been surprised if VZW did ot push this out a week or two sooner. Looks like that is exactly what they intend to do...Happy waiting...

My rep is now saying mid-November also. That's a shame, I was hoping for the 11/1 B2B preorder date everyone's been talking about. Oh well.

Default Verizon 8130 date for store purchase

The local Verizon store just called me and said that the 8130 would be in the stores on November 9th.

It is released in the stores on Nov 8. So my guess is that since you pre-ordered, they will ship the 7th and you will receive it the 8th?

I tried to place my preorder but I am not elidgable for my new every two till April (expected), but the customer service rep told me he had no idea what the price would be retail if I wanted to buy it now instead of waiting. I see that the website says $299 w/ 2 year.

Is anyone else purchasing theirs without the upgrade? Can anyone give me an idea what it would cost?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

What is the comfort level on pre-ordering as opposed to seeing the device first?

For those of us that have researched the pearl for the last month or more, I dont think playing with it will make a difference.

Full retail is $319. Not bad considering $420-499 retail for previous BB's on VZW.

I don't want to derail the thread too much, but I'm wondering at the full retail price of $319, would anyone suggest signing a 2 year contract if they plan on breaking it? I mean, if you sign a 2 yr for and get the phone for $199 and then have to pay an ETF of between $125-$175 (assuming you break contract in less than 6 mos), you would more than likely come out ahead just paying the full retail of $319.

Does my logic make sense? Basically if you plan on breaking contract in less than a year, it clearly makes sense to go full retail...which hasn't always been the case.

It sounds like your currently not a verizon custumer. Correct? Don't you have to have a 2 year contract to use their plan anyways?

I just dropped by a verizon store and they said they had it in stock. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to look at it because I was there for another device and they wouldn't let me see one out of the box. The sales person said it wll be available the 8th of November.
