I have a share plan with three members of my family. I have the Storm w/ the $29.99 unlimited. I did everything my self online:
-researched on various websites/forums including VZW site
-looked at options then picked aspects of plan I wanted and ordered Storm online.

I've being a VZW customer for years and found talking to a customer svc rep makes things more complicated. You do find a knowledgable one once in a while, but it's a gamble. You might as well ask my cat a question about a VZW issue. Forums like this are a life saver.

I just ordered my storm over the weekend at a verizion store, and they did inform me of the BIS data plan as being unlimited for 29.99.

I currently have the "Premium" plan for use with my wife's LG EnV, this gives her 450 minutes (plus 100 under a "special"), and, unlimited access to Navigator, email, web etc..

I'd like to upgrade her to the BB Storm, but, I'm not really sure what plan to go with. Can I just stay with the current Premium plan and get Blackberry email, or, do I need to switch to something else.
Requirements are:
-unlimited email & web
-some sort of GPS would be nice
-450 minutes calling (as long as we can keep the 100 bonus minutes we have)

She doesn't text much, so that's not a biggie.

Even if you find a Verizon rep that can manage to keep her current Premium plan and add BIS (Blackberry Internet Service), you'd be wasting money on the included VCast service which is not useable on BlackBerries/smartphones.

The cheapest way to meet her minimum requirements would be Nationwide Basic 450 ($39.99), BIS ($29.99), and whatever text plan will be sufficient for her. If she wants unlimited text, go with Nationwide Select 450 and BIS ($59.99 + $29.99). She will have GPS for free through BlackBerry Maps but she'll have to get VZ Navigator ($9.99) if she wants turn-by-turn navigation. You'll have to speak with a Verizon rep to see if she can keep the 100 bonus minutes special.

The BlackBerry Nationwide Email plans include BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) so if she only needs internet and email, going with a Nationwide voice plan and adding BIS will save you $10 over the BlackBerry Nationwide plans.
