Hi everyone, I'm definitely a noob when it comes to blackberries. I plan to get my 2nd Blackberry the 8320 Curve for T-mobile. Just from reading the specs and comparing it to every blackberry out on the market. It just seems like the Curve is near perfectection. Besides the fact that it doesn't have the telenav, which i wouldn't use anyways. Anyways all this buzz about 9000 is making me nervous cuse im about to drop $400 for this beauty and i want the latest and greatest for atleast 6months-1year. You guys think I should wait for the 9000, Im in need for a new phone but i can wait if its a month or two.

Get the 83xx. If you wait for the latest greatest you will always be waiting and if you aren't something "better" will come out 31 days after you buy it. Beside the price differential will be steep. Some expect the 9000 series to be right up there with Iphones.

Buy it and enjoy it's a great device!

Wirelessly posted

Since nobody knows the true release date on the 9k series, you will be waiting an indefinite amount of time. I agree with the other poster: get your "near perfection" now and determine what to do about the 9k when it shows up.

I have both the 8800 and the 8320, through T-Mobile, and to be honest I prefer the 8320. As you have alerady mentioned, the major difference is the GPS radio in the 88xx series which is one that I like not only because it's easy to use but for the sense of safety of knowing where you are and how you need to get where your going. Forget it. Using Google Maps, which is free, it can get a relative loctaion based on Cell Tower triangulation with BlackBerry's without a GPS radio. In most cases, it has been able to pinpoint my location or the closest street to me. The GPS radio in my 8800 never could lock on when I'm at work, it fail as soon as I entered the building. Right now, with my 8320 and Cell Tower triangulation, it has my location and it's as exact as far as I can tell. As long as you have a decent signal then there isn't a problem. If you vist locations that have spotty coverage or need that extra security, pick up a GPS puck for under $100. The external GPS pucks are better than the internal varients primarily because of power contraints. Not only that, an external will not drain your Blackberry's battery if you forget to turn it off (Bluetooth is always on for me) and most pucks last 10hrs while on. On another note, the Curve has the most recent firmware (released or beta) and if you have the possibility of upgrading your phone with T-Mobile, it's only $249.99 after the pesky MIR. Oh almost forgot that it has a nice 2MP camera too. And video recording is capable with beta OS 4.5 as my bro keeps reminding me.

The opinions expressed here are those of the poster and do not necessarily reflect the positions of the BlackBerryForums or the Blackberry Community.
