aim.jabber.dk seems to work. But the problem is, I register it...but it doesn't show up in the registered list (although once registered, I can IM to and from AIM users). Also, I can't get the contacts to show up on the BB. It just sits in the invited users category, and I can't message them (even though I can from Miranda).

I was able to get up on jaim.at with PSI and see all my contacts. The only issue I have is that when I shutdown PSI, I get logged out. Is this dependent upon the transport server?

A lot of the other ones mentioned here like deepdarc.com seem to be closed to registrations.

I tried to do this and now the transport I used isn't up anymore. Now I have over 100 buddies in the format of [email address] and I don't know how to get rid of them.

that's basically (in my opinion) the biggest issue with this method. I had the same problem and just ended up going through and deleting them all which took a very long time and I vow to never mess with it again

has anyone found that deepdarc signs you off once a day? I seem to get logged off of the transport automatically around 1:30 pm chicago time every day. All i have to do is re-login via psi, but being at work that can be a pain. does anyone know what could be happening?

4.Setup Miranda to connect to the Jabber network using the following instructions.
Google Talk Help - How do I configure Miranda for Google Talk?
5. Connect to Jabber in Miranda.

6. Once connected click on the crown icon at the top of the screen.

7. Select "Jabber", then select "Agents..."

8. Enter jabber.anywise.com into the "Jabber Server" box and click "Browse"

9. You should now see a list of services. Select the network you would like to connect to.

10. Click "Register".

11. Enter your login for that network and click "Register" again.

12. If you receive a successful registration your contacts from the new network should start showing up in Miranda and on your BB if it is logged in.

13. Repeat for each network.

Hope this helps.
Works great! Thanks a bunch :-D You've saved me cash from stupid verichat!

It would be useful compile all working servers. Afaik, jaim.at, jabber.anywise.com are working servers.

Okay, wow, I finally got things working somewhat normally. I used Psi and the jaim.at transport for AIM. However, my buddies that are currently on "away" are showing up as offline. As soon as they go online (instead of away) they show up as online. Is there any way to make them look away -- instead of offline -- when they are away?

Thanks for all the information on this subject.

I've tried both methods, and they work but I have a problem. Everytime I log on, it keeps changing my privacy preferences on AIM to "block users below".
Any way to keep your selected privacy settings from being altered?

working great for me however whenever i am in a conversation with someone on my blackberry on msn and i type a message when the person writes back i get the message repeated six times. i.e.

me: hello
steve: hi
steve: hi
steve: hi
steve: hi
steve: hi
steve: hi

anyone know why this is happeneing and/or how to fix it.
i know its not the jabber software because if i have a conversation on my computer i dont get repeats. I only get the repeats if the conversation is on my blackberry.

thanks

Ok I started down this path just to get icq working on my BB since verizon kills it.

Is there anyone that knows of a simpler free means of running icq on my BB?

Use PSI instead of Miranda. No special dll's needed.
