Default Blackberry in a car via Audi Bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I am trying to operate my 9700 with my Audi (TT) Bluetooth phone setup (via the Audi RNS-E media/satnav/phone system).
The Audi System is meant to automatically store all one's contacts stored on the SIM, rather than phone memory.
My 9700 has c.1,500 contacts on the phone and the 20 or so that I want in the car, in the "SIM phonebook".
Sadly the car seeks to download the full c.1,500.
Can I categorise the contacts perhaps? i.e. those I want on the car? I see that in the BT Options on the 9700, one can instruct it to only transfer specific categories, but I cannot tell the 'phone which categories to copy to the car!
Many thanks.

Probably not what you want to hear, but the Audi system will always sync everything and has no settings to prevent this. So I guess you're only hope is that RIM creates some Bluetooth-setting to let only certain numbers sync.

I don't believe that is necessarily correct. We have a 2010 Audi A3 and I am able to sync just certain categorizes of contacts, i.e. "Personal" from my 9700's contact list.

However, in my case, I was able to change the contact's category as they're sync'd from Outlook. I've never done it with a SIM contact.

In general, to answer the OP's question, Audi's BT does have the ability to sync a specific category of contact, but it may be version (model year) dependent.

That could very well be, tried it with a 2007 A4 with BNS and a 2006 A3 with RNS-E and both only could do a full sync. What version of the Audi BT did you use? The MMI-version?

I'm afraid I don't know. How can I determine the version?
